The Bollin and the Carrs shaped a town of leafy roads: Edwardian and interwar family houses, postwar plots since rebuilt, and pockets of genuinely old fabric toward the parish church. Many houses have been serially “improved” — a conservatory here, a loft there — without anyone asking what the whole should be.

A design note for Wilmslow

Serial improvement is Wilmslow’s signature problem: houses worth seven figures assembled from decisions worth five. The cure is one plan — even delivered in phases — so the next intervention is the last one needed.

Architecture and interiors, decided together

The wall you move decides the joinery that fits against it; the window you add decides the colour that works beneath it. Because I design both, decisions in Wilmslow houses get made once — plan, light, kitchen, storage, materials and lighting resolved as a single scheme rather than handed between an architect and a decorator six months apart.
